FAQ'S

Where the hell am I going? Grow Wild is located on a private, 100 acre farm in Shawnigan Lake, B.C. It is not located on Shawnigan Lake. The property is accessed by a 3km very well maintained dirt road.

Where will I sleep? Guests will camp in an open hay field (the hay will have been cut in July and the ground will be grass) camping is not private unless you book a glamping site (details coming soon) which is located in a private meadow away from the main camping and parking area. Guests are welcome to camp in a tent, van, rv, trailer, hammock etc. Please keep in mind, there are no hook-ups and self contained sanitary tanks must be emptied off the property at a certified sani dump site.

Do I have to spend the night? No one is required to spend the night! You are welcome to take advantage of any of the wonderful local accommodations around the Shawnigan Lake area, HOWEVER 2 nights camping is included in the general admission ticket price and no refunds will be given should you choose to seek accommodations off the property. Glamping costs are in addition to general admission ticket prices.

How many people are attending? We hope to have 30-50 people attend the festival. We will also have a crew of approximately 25 facilitating and running the event.

How many bodies will be in each of the workshops? Numbers in each group will vary. Some can accommodate up to 20 while others have smaller capacities as low as 8.

Will there be only women? While our participants are limited to those who identify as female, there will be men present throughout the event. The farm residents, live music presenters and the hide tanning duo all include men and we are so lucky to have them.

What is the bathroom situation!? There are 3 permanent composting outhouses. In addition to those, we will have 2 portable rented outhouses. Hand wash facilities will be provided.

What animals are on the farm? The farm is home year round to our herd of beef cattle, free range turkeys, egg chickens, cats and dogs. Seasonally we raise sheep and pigs. You won't have any direct encounters with animals. They will just be part of the ambiance!

Can I bring my pet? While we love animals we do not allow any pets at any of our events. Please leave your furry friends at home.

Where will we gather? Our main gathering area will be under an event tent provided by Shady Spaces. Depending on what workshops/services you book you will gather in many other locations including the Burrow tent, the dock, the forest, fields, bell tents, pop up tents or the farmhouse. (See photos at bottom of page for reference)

What do I need to bring? Guests are responsible for bringing all of their own camping gear and supplies, portable camp chair, clothing, toiletries, towels, floaties, flashlight, and yoga mat. All props for restorative yoga are provided but please feel free to bring your own. Those who purchase VIP Glamping tickets will have all linens provided. As unnecessary waste is very high on our priority list, each guest must bring one PLATE, BOWL, FORK, KNIFE, SPOON & WATER BOTTLE. There will be a communal wash station for guests to wash and store their dish after each meal. Please feel free to bring any snacks or beverages you may want in addition to what is provided. Guests are to provide their own dinner of Friday evening.

What is included in my ticket? 2 Nights Camping (Friday and Saturday) 4 Delicious, Local, Organic Meals ( Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner on Saturday, Light Snacks and Brunch on Sunday) Coffee & Tea will be available each morning at 7am. Water and special beverages will be available throughout your entire stay. Access to all optional group activities Friday-Sunday. Access to two 2 hour workshops (you choose your activities). Live music, dancing, swimming and forests walks.

What is not included in my ticket? Dinner on Friday. All Wellness Practitioners (ie.hide tanning, tarot reading, acupuncture, RMT, energy healing and osteopathy) are purchased and booked separately from your general admission ticket. Details on this will be in your welcome email at a later date.

Can I shower? Outdoor shower tickets are not included in the ticket price but can be purchased when purchasing general admission. Limit one shower per person. See Outdoor shower photo for reference. On demand hot water and biodegradable soap provided!

Do I have to come for all three days? You are welcome to come and go in a manor that suits your needs and schedule HOWEVER a general admission ticket must be purchased and funds will not be altered, no refunds will be issued. We also suggest staying for the entire time and immersing yourself in the Grow Wild Experience.  ****The exception to this IS if you have purchased a Hide Tanning ticket ONLY and will be attending only one 2 hour workshop window****

What does Off-Grid mean? The property is 100% self sufficient. This means it is not connected to any municipal water, sewer or power. We generate our own electricity and water from wells. The main farmhouse is fully powered should someone need access to electricity. All other locations are not serviced with electricity. Some solar lights are provided around the property but we highly recommend a good quality flashlight or headlamp.

Can I have a campfire? We (and the province of BC)  have a zero tolerance policy for open flames of any kind during a fire ban. There will be no fires (propane or open flame) This includes candles, incense, smudging and smoking. Our Wood Fired Spa will not be available during the event for this reason. Anyone found responsible for starting a wildfire is liable for all related costs by the Province of BC. Please be fire smart. The property is equipped with water pumps and fire hoses should an incident like this occur.

Can I bring wine ... or maybe something stronger? We will not be serving any alcohol. If you wish to bring your own for Friday/Saturday evenings then please do indulge responsibly.  We have a zero tolerance policy for any illegal drugs. Smoking of any substance  is forbidden.

Is there cell phone reception or Wifi? There is good cell phone reception but no wifi. Download your tunes before arriving!

Is there somewhere to charge my device? There will be two outlets available for charging small devices (like phones and speakers). Keep in mind that these will be for all attendees. We suggest you leave your phone in your tent!

How much free time will I have? You can see the designated free time windows in the schedule above. However, you can design your own program so you could choose not to sign up for any workshops and have all the free time in the world!

How many workshops can I sign up for? You can sign up for a maximum of two workshops. With that being said you do not have to sign up for any workshops if you do not want to!

Do I have to participate in all full group activities? Everything that we offer if simply that...an offering. You are welcome to join in on everything or nothing. You will never be asked to speak in a group setting or share if you are not comfortable doing so. You are welcome to come and go as needed.

When and how do I choose my workshops? There will be a form released at a later date where you will have the opportunity to select your workshop preferences.

Are workshop choices guaranteed? Due to many factors we unfortunately cannot guarantee workshop choices. We will do our very best to accommodate everyone's first and second choices.

How do I let you know about my dietary restrictions? We can accommodate most dietary restrictions. We can accommodate Gluten Free but NOT CELIAC. Everything is prepared in a kitchen that also uses and processes nuts. There will be a form released at a later date where you will have the opportunity to give us this information.
